Edition Balthasar - 2017

Our 2017 Limited Edition – a Chocolate Stout in a 0.75l bottle – presents itself as a rich dark brown with reddish highlights.
At the beginning a noticeable chocolate note can be recognized which is then accompanied very harmoniously by the coffee aroma typical of stout. The Chocolate Stout is not at all sweet in taste but characterized by a particular softness on the palate. The delicate toasted notes, reminiscent of cocoa and chocolate, are perfectly balanced with the modest hop dosage.

Accompaniment for food: A perfect match for seared steaks, mussels or scallops. It harmonizes particularly well with fruity desserts or chocolate ones as well as with nuts, nut cake or vanilla ice cream. But it is also a taste experience when accompanied by smoked cheese or spicy blue-veined cheese.

Edition Bernardus Tripel - 2016

The Bernardus is rich gold in colour and typically cloudy, testimony to the original brewing process of a Belgian Tripel beer. The characteristic aromas of Belgium Abbey yeast combine outstandingly with the fruity fresh notes from dry-hopping with Huell Melon and Mandarina Bavaria. Thus a particular lightness accompanied by fresh honeydew melons and green pepper comes into being which pushes the stronger alcohol content wonderfully into the background. A delicate bitterness rounds off these complex aromas.

Accompaniment for food: excellent with veal, in particular also with veal Wiener schnitzel and poultry, e.g. a rolled joint of turkey. A good companion for stronger cheeses.

The soft texture of sweet fruitiness is perfectly balanced by a restrained hoppy bitterness. Edition Belgisch Wit - Spring 2017

Originating in the tradition of beer brewed from wheat, we interpret a further international, top-fermenting beer speciality in our Belgian Wit in which orange peel and coriander are traditionally used in the brewing process. The very light colour and visible cloudiness is typical of Wit beer. A slight yeast aroma in the nose, concealed by the fruitiness of the orange peel and the coriander. Fresh on the palate and light in body with a fruity-spicy flavour and only a delicate impression of hops.

Accompaniment for food: Belgian Wit harmonises particularly well with (smoked) fish dishes, sushi and seafood as well as light salads, Asian dishes and curry. Furthermore it is also the ideal accompaniment to desserts such a fruit salad and piquant cheeses or sheep’s cheese.
